Christy Pym's story:

Christy, a highly-rated young goalkeeper, was handed his first professional contract at St James Park in April 2013.

He went on to make his debut for the club the following season in a 3-2 victory over Southend at Roots Hall on February 15, 2014. He then went on to become first-choice keeper towards the end of that campaign.

On August 28, 2014, Christy was called up to the England under-20s team for a friendly match against Romania and has since received two further calls up at that level.

The young shot stopper had a superb 2016/17 season. He managed to nudge experienced shot-stopper Bobby Olejnik out of the No. 1 spot with a string of fine displays between the sticks.

In 2017/18 Christy had arguably his best season yet as he helped the Grecians to Wembley for the second successive season. He picked up no less than six end of season awards for his performances, including accolades such as the Hawksmoor Investment Management fans’ player of the season award.

Christy remained City's first choice goalkeeper going into the 2018/19 campaign under Matt Taylor.
