Pedro Borges signs new deal

We are delighted to announce that Pedro Borges has signed a new two-year deal at the club, keeping him a Grecian until at least the end of the 2026/27 season.

The 19-year-old Portuguese joined the City academy in 2022 from the youth system at Yeovil Town and made his first team debut for the Grecians in August 2022 in an EFL Trophy fixture against Newport County, and would later make his Football League debut in a League One fixture against Bolton Wanderers in April 2023.

Like most Exeter City academy stars Borges spent time on loan away from the club, featuring for Plymouth Parkway, Tiverton Town, Dorchester Town and Gosport Borough in recent seasons.

In the 2024/25 season, Pedro made a further four first team appearances before a move to Yeovil where he played eight times in the National League. He then scored twice in 11 appearances for Weston-super-Mare, whom he joined in January for the second part of the campaign.

"It feels so good, and it's very exciting," Pedro said.

"I have worked so hard for it. I have had my highs and low, and I wanted to thank God, my family and of course the club."

"I am injured at the moment but I feel very good and can't wait to get back on the pitch. My goal is to get back out there as soon as possible."

"It's been a good few years here but it's gone very quickly and I feel like I have developed very well. I still feel like I have got a lot to give though."

Manager Gary Caldwell said: "Pedro has had lots of ups and downs in his time at Exeter but we really believe in him as a player. He is currently injured so couldn’t play any part for the first team at the end of the season but there was no doubt in keeping Pedro at the club next season."

"He is a player with so many good attributes and we look forward to him returning from injury and seeing those attributes on a regular basis on the pitch next season."
