Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts ahead of Thursday night's SOLD OUT Devon Derby at SJP.
The match is the first Devon Derby since 2023 where City fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat thanks to an own goal. City last tasted success at home with an emphatic 4-0 win back in 2019.
Ahead of the match Gary understands how important it is to the fans, having experienced two previous matches.
"It's a game that winning is everything, the performance is important and it's important we have a clarity on how we are going to win for our supporters and our City and making sure we give our supporters a really special night and one to remember forever."
The players will be backed by a passionate sold out St James Park crowd and Gary knows they will want to show of the very best of Devon and the club, live on Sky Sports.
"Of the two games I've been part of the supporters have been excellent. We need rivalry and passion but we can't overstep that and we have to make sure the behaviour in the technical area and on the pitch and in the stands is at the very best - to show the best of Devon.
"The fans know how big a night game at SJP is and what they can bring to the team - they can give them an extra yard and bit of confidence. The Big Bank in full voice can suck the ball into the net so they have a huge part to play.
"I know they have raised money for a display ahead of the game so I'm delighted they've done that again. They have an opportunity to show just what this club is about.
