Alex put pen to paper on his first professional contract at St James Park in April 2017.
He normally plays at left-back or left-sided centre-half and spent the majority of last season on loan at Conference South side Bath City.
Alex made his first team debut with an impressive performance against Grimsby Town on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
Hartridge cemented his place in the starting line up in 2020/21, forming a great central defensive partnership with Rory McArdle and scoring two goals - one each against AFC Fylde in the FA Cup and Swindon in the EFL Trophy - and making a total of 29 appearances in League Two.
